The Sustainable Procurement Pledge and the First Movers Coalition of the World Economic Forum Host the Procure Innovation Dialogues 2024.
Düsseldorf, September 16, 2024 – The power of procurement is increasingly recognized as a crucial driver in the global effort to meet sustainability goals. As companies strive to achieve net-zero targets and navigate evolving market dynamics, procurement professionals are stepping into a leading role in the sustainability transition.
Co-hosted by the Sustainable Procurement Pledge (SPP) and First Movers Coalition of the World Economic Forum (WEF), the Procure Innovation Dialogues: Unlocking the Power of Procurement to Achieve the Climate Goals will take place on September 20, 2024. The Dialogues will facilitate peer-to-peer conversations with Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs), members of their company’s leadership team, and value-chain partners to set near-term agendas, unleash collaboration, and empower action at scale.
Building on the success of the 2023 Procure Innovation Dialogues, the 2024 Dialogues will focus on knowledge exchange, actionable strategies, and courageous cross-industry collaborations to unlock the power of procurement and collaboration for accelerated action.
“The Procure Innovation Dialogues are a powerful example of how procurement can truly catalyze sustainability. We’re thrilled and deeply grateful for the amazing partnership between SPP and WEF’s First Movers Coalition. This collaboration is not just another event—it’s a shared journey of changemakers striving to build a sustainable future. This day is a great example of the SPP community in action: collaboration, open exchange, and a commitment to our shared goal of using the power of procurement to drive change at speed.” – Mélissa de Roquebrune, Executive Director, Sustainable Procurement Pledge.
This exclusive event creates a safe space for honest peer-to-peer conversations and emphasizes the importance of top-level engagement and collaboration – both from within the organization and across supply chains. We are creating this space for leaders who are dedicated to tackling the hard questions and challenges they face, with the shared vision of empowering a profession to leave the right legacy.
“It’s time to move beyond discussions to deliver real change. The 2024 Dialogues will set the agenda for procurement in the response to the climate crisis, identifying the pathways to net-zero through innovative procurement practices and partnerships, both within companies and between supply chain partners to make sure climate pledges are translated into procurement decisions.” – [Rob van Riet Interim Program Head, Climate Action and First Movers Coalition]
