WBCSD Calls for Industrial Sector Barometer Input

Dear SPP Community,

As you know, your voice matters.

SPP is working with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) on a number of mutually beneficial activities associated with operationalizing sustainability.  WBCSD is currently working to bring a clear and strong business voice to the different Breakthrough Agendas via the yearly Business Breakthrough Barometer. This report provides business perspective regarding the pace of decarbonization globally, the action businesses are taking and what is required to accelerate investment.

WBCSD has asked SPP Ambassadors to bring a procurement perspective as part of the business voice and to complete the Barometer survey HERE, which should take approximately 15 minutes of your time.

The survey focuses on industrial sectors (power, transport, industry and buildings).  WBCSD is looking for responses from the whole value chain, both where the sector is core to your business or is critically important to your organization’s decarbonization journey.   With 200 countries currently crafting national climate investment plans, adding procurement expertise to a global business voice is more crucial than ever.

Initial insights will be published at Climate Week New York. These will be used to inform targeted dialogues with governments, develop key messages for businesses to policy makers on sector priorities and inform the Breakthrough Agenda.

Timing: Provide input to the survey by 30 August.

Who: You and your colleagues. WBCSD is seeking anonymous, personal input from purchasing experts and business leaders across the entire value chain. Multiple people from your company or business network are welcome to complete the survey since contributing ensures a well-rounded perspective.

How to Participate: Your participation is straightforward:

  • Complete the Barometer, survey link HERE which should take approximately 15 minutes of your time.
  • Share this email with colleagues or members of your business network to ensure a full perspective from across sectors and value chains.

Exclusive Benefits for Contributors: In appreciation of your contribution on behalf of SPP, you will receive early access to key findings and an in-depth analysis of the survey results prior to public release.

For Any Queries: Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact SPP’s very own Nancy Gillis (SPP Advisory Committee Member) at Nancy.Gillis@wbcsd.org.

Thank you for your incredibly valuable time and attention!
