Join us in this exciting webinar to hear top sustainability experts discuss recent developments in procurement policy in the US, UK, and Canada and learn what actions and disclosures will likely be needed from your company in this new era of sustainable procurement policy.
The U.S. government is the world’s largest customer and, with well-crafted procurement policy, this market power can drive important progress on sustainability. In this webinar, Andrew Mayock, Chief Sustainability Officer at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, will provide an overview of the Federal Government’s sustainable procurement initiatives under the Biden-Harris Administration, including the Federal Buy Clean Initiative, the U.S. Government’s transition to 100% 24/7 carbon-free electricity, and electrification of the Federal Government’s vehicle fleet. Steven Rothstein, Managing Director of Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Markets, will provide an overview of sustainable procurement rulemakings of the Biden-Harris Administration, with a focus on the sustainable products procurement rule finalized in April 2024 and the supplier climate risk disclosure rule proposed in October 2022. Attendees will learn about the sustainability actions and disclosures needed to meet the new requirements and hear ideas about how to drive policy progress in the final months of the Biden Administration.
Dr. David A. Johnston, Professor and the George Weston Ltd. Chair and Centre Director in Sustainable Supply Chains at the Schulich School of Business at York University, Canada; and Darren Knowd MBA MCIPS, CEO of DRKNOWD Ltd, former Chair of the UK National Social Value Task Force and former Head of Procurement, Commercial Sales and Business Services at Durham County Council, UK; will join our panel of speakers and offer their perspective about the current and/or anticipated policies affecting their countries. We are also delighted to have Anthony Fuller, Co-Chair of the SPP USA Chapter, joining us as moderator in this webinar.
