SPP Nature & Biodiversity | How to get started on water in Procurement and engage suppliers

***Register for free via this Teams link***
Most businesses need water to operate, yet our fresh water is running out. According to the CEO Mandate, if current trends persist, we will only have 60% of the fresh water we need in 2030. Therefore, good water management means good business continuity. Procurement professionals are well positioned to manage this risk and maintain their supply chain security. Water shortages can lead to industrial interruptions, energy outages and agricultural production losses and taking a proactive approach to water issues can mean ensuring business profitability into the future.
Scott Oram, the Global Water Lead at Haleon, will be joining us to explain how every Procurement professional can get started on water. He will start by explaining key water-related issues like scarcity and pollution, followed by the types of solutions one can put in place, ranging for basic water management to water stewardship. He’ll explain the different approaches procurement professionals can take based on their companies’ maturity levels, starting at compliance and ending at resilience management. Scott will also help procurement professionals understand the case for water and how taking a proactive approach can help you save your businesses monies. For example, reducing the need to incinerate polluted water both helps conserve water and reduce costs. The latter part of the webinar will be used to provide demos and examples of how procurement professionals can assess their suppliers and take action, including what to add to tenders and contracts and what project related advice to give to your suppliers.
