    Sustainability 102 for Procurement Professionals

An invitation to all UK Based Procurement Professionals, on 15th July at 3pm we will be hosting the second of our two part series. Part 1 focussed on some definitions and frameworks related to sustainability which are important to understand. In Sustainability 102 we’ll spend time to understand how as a procurement practitioner you can get started, what you can do, hear some real life case studies and also hear about what are some of the common mistakes and strategies to avoid. This session is for EVERYONE – whether you already have some knowledge, are keen to brush up or are an absolute beginner. This webinar will be hosted by Demi Smoloktou and David Loseby.

Demi is currently WPP’s Global Procurement Compliance Director and has over 14 years of experience in sustainability and responsible procurement. She has had previous sustainability and responsible procurement roles with ASOS, KFC, Whitbread and Travis Perkins. Alongside her role at WPP, Demi is also pursuing her PhD at the University of Liverpool, where her research is focused on exploring the role and vulnerability of transport and logistics industry in mitigating labour exploitation risks in global supply chains.

David has over 30 years of experience at the senior executive/director level driving value and changes through procurement, organisational transformation and change management. Formerly Group CPO for Rolls Royce, he was the principal architect behind the behavioural science-led approach to the adoption of a new digital platform. David has also recently transitioned part-time to academia and is a visiting scholar at the University of East Anglia and has been appointed Professor of Research Impact at Leeds University Business School.

    What will be covered:

In our first session, Sustainability 101, we looked at the basics related to understanding Sustainability and we covered definitions and frameworks. We covered specific topics such as Sustainable Consumer Behaviour, Circularity / Circular Economy, Scope 1, 2, 3 carbon emissions, UN Sustainable Development Goals and much more.

In this, the second of our two-part series, we’ll look to our speakers to help us understand the legislation that we should all be aware of and the application of sustainability to procurement. We’ll think about how to get started, share some practical examples and also common mistakes to avoid.

The 90 min online season will include an opportunity to ask your questions as well.
