Astrid Bosten - Advocacy

“With great power comes great responsibility!” – Spider Man

Born in Germany, the encounters with so many different and diverse people in various countries and cities around this beautiful world have lastingly enriched my exciting life. I am a passionate advocate and strong believer in sustainability and the inclusion of equity and diversity. I have been working at Henkel in various responsibilities for almost 20 years, and since 2017 as Senior Sustainability Manager Purchasing within Henkel’s procurement organization.

Oliver Hurrey - Fundraising

“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” – Michael Jordan

Based in the UK, I have been getting equally excited and frustrated about sustainable business and responsible supply chains for 15 years. I helped develop and grow the 2degrees network over the last decade – a global sustainable business collaboration platform of thousands of practitioners and leaders – and has worked with clients across industry sectors such as Unilever, Mars, Johnson & Johnson, Sky, Co-op, Interface, Stanley Black & Decker, npower and EDF Energy, as well as advising some of the leading sustainable business initiatives, groups, technologies and consultants. I am now the Founder of Galvanised, where I make positive change happen faster in businesses and supply chains.

Anahi Herrera - Partnerships & Fundraising

“When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful.” – Malala Yousafzai

Born and raised in Mexico, I decided to study university in France. Since then, I have experienced different cities, discovering the aesthetics of nature and the harmony of languages and cultural diversity.
Recently graduated with a Master in Science in International Purchasing and Innovation, I try to become a better version of myself by making meaningful contributions –personally and professionally– to our planet and society.

Michael Rauch - Advocacy & Fundraising

“Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill

After working in Germany and Austria, I am now working in the Netherlands – a country that is in danger of drowning if we do not immediately change our behaviour and stop global warming. This is just one reason why I like to get involved in sustainability projects like SPP or the Unilever Sustanability Living Plan.
As marketing consultant (rauch: marketing & brands) I support companies (B2C & B2B) in the development and implementation of insight-focused and sustainable marketing and brand strategies to change customer behaviour in a positive way.

Caitlyn Tzou - Governance & Partnerships

“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery

After growing up, studying, and landing my first job in the US, I decided it was time for a new adventure and embarked on a two year journey in Europe for my master’s in Energy and Environmental Engineering. I loved living in Europe, so after graduation I moved to Switzerland to join Schindler Group’s Global Quality and Environment team. My interest in procurement started at Tesla, where I worked on projects to reduce the material waste generated from the various automotive components. This experience made me think about how I procure personal goods and what I can do to reduce my impact on the environment.

Marco Carella - Capacity Building

“Amid all the doom-laden exhortations to change our ways, let us remember that we are striving to create a more beautiful world, and not sustain, with growing sacrifice, the current one. We are not just seeking to survive […] we are facing a glorious possibility.” – Charles Eisenstein

I grew up in Sweden and Germany. Currently I feel at home in Cologne. I have worked for 13 years in various chemical companies, most of the time in procurement and supply chain management. In 2019 I became passionate about business sustainability management, because I understood that business can play an impactful role in solving the biggest challenges we are facing on this planet. I want to drive change and I am preparing myself by studying part-time at the University of Cambridge. What I will learn there, I will share with you here. This way, we might be able to go this ambitious journey together.

Desre Hancocks - Capacity Building

“ubuntu, ngumuntu, ngabantu – a person is a person through other persons” – Zulu Proverb

“Ubuntu…It also means my humanity is caught up, is inextricably bound up, in theirs. We belong in a bundle of life.” ― Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Born in South Africa and currently based in the UK, I have always had a passion for helping others and a deeply rooted value of social justice. While studying my undergraduate degree at St Andrews University, I attended a panel discussion on the complex issues of conflict minerals. It had a profound effect on me, and I found myself going up to the panellists with the question, how can I help? As a naive consumer I had no idea of the complexity of supply chains and the devastating impact practices were having on both people and planet. And so my journey to finding a way to be part of the solution began. Nine years later I am excited to be part of such an inspiring movement of fellow procurement professionals looking to transform their supply chains to be a force for good in the world.

Emily Prior - Governance

“You must take action. You must do the impossible. Because giving up can never ever be an option.” – Greta Thunberg

Following completion of my undergrad degree in French and Spanish and an MSc in Sustainable Development, I spent 6 years working all over the world including in Haiti, Jordan and Chad, specialising in sustainable development programmes linking private sector, government, community groups and NGOs. On my return to the UK I wanted to scale the work I’d been doing and have a global impact so I chose to focus on making supply chains sustainable. Through my role at Manufacture 2030 as Head of Customer Success, I lead our work with multi-national corporations and their suppliers to accelerate their emissions reduction and transition to sustainable manufacturing.

Pia Pinkawa - Advocacy

“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.” – Robert Swan

Coming from a Compliance perspective in my previous position, I understood, that businesses but also societies, that we all need to go beyond Compliance towards a sustainable way of acting and thinking. As an independent communication and marketing professional and expert in the field of sustainable supply chains I’m working now with organizations and service providers to engage and enable procurement, supply chains and people to strive for and implement a sustainable way of making business.

Brianna McCain - Governance

“The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.” – Nelson Henderson

Growing up on a farm in a rural community afforded me the opportunity to learn firsthand about the intersection between humans and the environment. After earning a degree in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz, my fascination with sustainable practices grew as I became aware of the far-reaching impacts of our global economy. While individual efforts are important, I believe that procurement and supply chains hold the key to unlocking a more sustainable future for us all. I feel fortunate to be able to drive that vision through the SPP and in my role as the Director of Implementation at SupplyShift, a responsible sourcing software company based in Santa Cruz, California. Through my role at SupplyShift, I lead the team that supports our enterprise customers in making actionable progress on their sustainability goals.

Joline Beninga - Advocacy

“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.” – Robert Swan

Born and raised in Germany, I always felt very grateful for the opportunities I have been given and looked for a way of giving back and doing something meaningful for society. It has always been very important to me to stay true to my values, also in my professional life.
That is why after completing my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, I wanted to gain more knowledge in how to help companies to operate in a way that allows all individuals and the planet to benefit. Hence, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in Sustainability Management. Alongside, I am also working as Master Student in the sustainability department of Henkel’s procurement organization.

Sonia Couprie - Partnerships

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” – Barack Obama

Currently based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, I grew up in France, spent time in Germany and lived in Poland for over 11 years. I believe in the power of the collective action to change status quo and I am convinced that procurement is the key to drive significant changes in the purchase behaviour of organizations and put sustainability as a priority.

Cesare Guarini – Partnerships & Fundraising

“Our life is what our thoughts make it.” – Marcus Aurelius

Italian of origin, spent almost all professional life abroad. Currently working in Switzerland with family in Belgium with wife and 4 children (twins, twice).

Worked across industries, geographies, and functions. Since 10 years in Sustainability Procurement, in the meantime (much) more than just ‘a job’.

For all I could experience and learn, my duty to share and help

Rosie Davenport – Advocacy

As founder of Impact Focus, I advise companies on steps they can take for better business and create communications strategies to tell their sustainability story.

I’m a geek for facts and stats, turning them into transparent communications and reports, articulating organisational purpose, increasing engagement with consumers, media, investors and trading partners.

An Accredited Sustainability Professional of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), I’m also a B-Leader and graduate of Cambridge University’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership with a focus on collaborating to help businesses successfully transition to a sustainable future.
